A Journey of Dedication and Leadership
Susan’s remarkable journey at Albertsons Companies began at a customer service desk in Denver, Colo. Over the
years, she has held various leadership roles, demonstrating her deep understanding of the retail grocery business.
Her progression from the front lines to the executive suite exemplifies her dedication, hard work and exceptional
leadership skills.
As the company’s newly appointed CEO, Susan will focus on driving the company's growth and innovation through
an accelerated strategy aimed at earning Customers for Life. This strategy encompasses enhancing digital engagement
in e-commerce, loyalty programs, pharmacy and health services and in-store experiences. Susan is committed to
connecting shoppers with our purpose – to bring people together around the joys of food and to inspire
well-being. She will lead more than 285,000 associates in delivering exceptional experiences for customers.
Susan’s leadership, extensive experience and passion for the retail grocery industry and its future will guide
us as we raise the bar using technology and strengthening our connections with more than 40 million customers each

As Chief Operations Officer, Susan routinely
visited stores across the
country, making time to connect with associates serving our customers every day. In 2024, she got her
flu shot from Kristen, a Pharmacy Manager at a Safeway store in our Portland Division, and posed for a
pic with Joe at one of our Jewel-Osco stores.
In 2014, Susan and her mentor Bob Butler (former EVP of Operations for
Albertsons) attended the first game of the Boise State University Broncos football season to celebrate
the renaming of the stadium to Albertsons Stadium. They wear commemorative #39 shirts in honor of
Albertsons' founding in 1939. Also pictured is Mark Coyle, former Boise State University athletic
director.
In 2014, Susan (then Intermountain Division
President) celebrated the
newly remodeled store #101, the location of Joe Albertson’s first store in 1939, alongside former Idaho
Gov. Butch Otter, former Boise Mayor Dave Bieter, and Albertsons Companies leaders.
Recently, Susan joined the fresh bakery chorus line at the Albertsons store in Ammon, Idaho.
